Engaging Communities

Engaging Communities CIC is a Bradford based company, established in October 2015.  The organisation enables Public and Private organisations to form real connections with the Voluntary and Community Sectors.  It works to a social model of health; recognising the wider determinants of health and uses a Community Development approach in order to ‘Consult, Involve and Connect’ individuals and communities through meaningful involvement and engagement.

Engaging Communities CIC aims are:

  • to provide a link between the public, private and voluntary sectors and grassroots organisations through consultation and involvement
  • to provide individuals and groups with the opportunities to be actively involved in the decision-making processes

to develop relevant networks and connections across all sectors

Engaging Communities Services:

One of the Services that Engaging Communities runs is Idle Well Connected Service, which meets monthly at Idle Baptist Church.  The service is aimed at isolated, older people and enables them to meet other people with similar needs in a social and relaxed atmosphere.  The service also provides access to a wide range of support and information and support and advice to carers.

Each well-connected session delivers a programme of entertainment, social activities, reminiscence and guest speakers from a range of health and social care staff.

Engaging Communities is supported by a team of invaluable volunteers who really enhance the quality of its services and activities.
